Small But Mighty: The JBL L82 Classic

Last year, we already showed how smitten we were with the L100 Classic from JBL. We think we are in love for all the right reasons! Now the US-American manufacturer has produced a smaller version of the legendary speakers. At this year's CES in Las Vegas the L82 Classic was presented. Let's take a look at the most important details.

The JBL L82 Classic are 8-inch two-way bookshelf speakers. They combine the most advanced acoustic technologies from JBL with iconic design. The speakers’ housing is a real walnut-wood veneer and is combined with the already familiar cubed-foam in blue, black or orange. The vintage design lives on!

The same tweeter components are used in the speakers that are already familiar from its big brother, the L100 Classic. It’s a titanium dome tweeter that delivers an exceptionally detailed and spacious sound. Thanks to an L-pad damper, this can be variably adjusted to suit individual requirements.

The woofer has a cast iron frame and is framed by a white cellulose membrane, which perfectly rounds off the retro design. The port radiates forward. The sound of the L82 Classic is impressive all across the board.

As known from its predecessor, the L82 Classic is also manufactured mirror-inverted, which means that the left speaker is the mirror image of the right one.

Each speaker weighs around 13 kilograms and measures approximately 472 mm x 281 mm x 296 mm. The speakers are expected to be available in spring, and we can’t wait to get them up and running!
