The long wait is finally over: We unpacked KEF's LS60 Wireless today. In the pictures, the model is in white, but the speakers also come in blue and gray. We are happy to welcome the new star of the KEF range to our collection. And yes, you can expect a video of the unpacking will follow in the next few days.

Let’s give a brief rundown on the new all-in-one speaker system: The 60 in the name appropriately indicates that KEF gave themselves a gift with the new speaker for their anniversary. Those already familiar with the LS50 Wireless know that the Wireless in the product name is an indication that this is an active speaker with comprehensive streaming capabilities. In addition to a variety of digital as well as analog connection options (including HDMI) on the back, the LS60 Wireless offers access to the same range of popular streaming services as its predecessor. It is also Roon Ready certified, Chromecast, and Bluetooth compatible.

Nun steht die LS60 Wireless endlich bei uns!

Just as narrow as the average cell phone in height, the active floorstanding speakers pack a lot of technical know-how. As with KEF’s KC62 subwoofer, the LS60’s form factor presented several challenges. To ensure simultaneous high efficiency with strong assertiveness even in the low registers, KEF’s new one also employs patent-pending Uni-Core technology. The two overlapping voice coils of the back-to-back mounted woofers (similar to the KEF Blade) are installed in such a way that their concentric arrangement leaves enough space for each other to excursion to be able to generate the required diaphragm stroke. Due to the fact that the diaphragms are driven by a single, common motor, it takes advantage of force cancellation. As a little anecdote on the side, David Bosch, one of the sound engineers behind the newcomer as well as a host of other KEF speakers, told us that the Uni-Core technology had originally been designed for the LS60 before it came to market in the form of the KC62 subwoofer.

We are impressed by the impressive unveiling of the KEF LS60 wireless speakers. Despite their inconspicuous sizes, they do not need to hide at all in terms of spatiality and richness of detail. The bilateral excursion of the side woofer cones of about 8 mm provided despite their slim waist for a decent rumble, whereby the speakers convince even the last row of itself. A strong addition!

Ein echtes Schmuckstück
