Digital Music: How Does It Work? Conversion After the DSD Mode

After already digging deep in the previous article with the PCM method (Pulse Code Modulation) and having quite meticulously worked through some fundamental aspects of digitisation, let's get to the much-discussed alternative DSD (Direct Stream Digital). Never miss your favorite show and enjoy complete independence from broadcast times of the television stations: the promise of the manufacturer has remained the same since the advent of the first VCR. But over the last decade there have been many advancements in the technology. The current state of development is beautifully demonstrated by the new flagships of the Panasonic Blu-ray recorders - the DMR-BST940 and the DMR-BCT940 – what could be called the Swiss army knife of recording specialists.

As mentioned previously after more than a decade of hosting sound installations in the Mediterrean House, this year marked our final participation in the Berliner Staudenmarkt at the Botanical Gardens in Dahlem. IFA 2014: A Commentary

"1924 saw more than 170,000 visitors to a rather sober presentation without glitz and glamour."So the corresponding Wikipedia article describes the first International Radio Exhibition in Berlin. Over 90 years have passed, the IFA is now considered one of the oldest industrial exhibitions in Germany and but no longer are the presentations only given in such a 'sober' approach. And I'm certainly not the only one who pleased about that!

KEF Reference Series 5 now in stock!

At this year's high end hifi convention in Munich it finally happened: after the rumour mill had already predicted it in the correct direction, manufacturer KEF introduced the new and improved Reference Series. The flagship - the Reference Five - promptly won the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Award 2014-2015. The speaker has arrived at our shop and its performance is waiting to be tested by you.

For over a decade its technology has appeared to be on the brink of extinction and yet the analog FM radio is still here.
