First Impressions
With a length of one meter and a weight of six kilograms, the SC-HTB900 soundbar is ideal for large-screen TVs. Its elegant design blends into the living room, whether it is mounted under the TV or on the wall using the supplied mounting brackets. Since the subwoofer is wirelessly connected to the soundbar, it can also be positioned flexibly.
What’s Inside?
Of course, it is relevant that the SC-HTB900 serves an incredibly wide range of audio and movie formats. Even HiRes and 4K signals are played back.
Two HDMI inputs and one HDMI output (ARC) provide adequate connectivity. In addition, the soundbar has an optical audio-in and a Bluetooth receiver. WLAN or LAN are also no problem.
Chromecast provides access to network media. This makes it easy to stream music and establish a multi-room connection. The soundbar is easily controlled via Google Assistant. Included is also a reduced remote control, which makes it very easy to use.
And The Sound?
A total of eight loudspeaker drivers have been incorporated into the soundbar, which provides real home cinema sound: there are two 6.5 cm drivers each for the right, left and centre channel and two tweeters in addition. This provides Dolby Digital and DTS, but also 3D sound moves into your own four walls thanks to Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. This is made possible by sound reflection from the ceiling and virtual surround sound from behind and above – breathtaking sound included! To make it all a little bit easier, three presets are already available, which provide 3D sound of varying power.
Our Final Thoughts
The Panasonic SC-HTB900 is a sound-strong soundbar that offers Dolby Atmos and also provides the extra boost home cinema feeling with the wireless subwoofer integrated in the set. Of course, it is the ideal complement for Panasonic’s powerful OLED TVs, but it can also be ideally combined with other TV models.
