Home Cinema In Your Ears: JVC’s XP-EXT1 Exofield Headphones

Headphones from JVC are somewhat of a novelty in our range as the manufacturer is more synonymous with projector screens. But we're thrilled by the XP-EXT1 Exofield — these headphones are blowing our mind in a very unique way! Having a 7.1.4 system in your ears is incredibly impressive!

When one of our team initially set up the XP-EXT1 Exofield for some test listening, he said, “When are you going to start? He heard sounds but thought that the floorstanding speakers were still playing. In fact, it was JVC’s headphones that wonderfully brought home cinema sound — from stereo to Dolby Atmos — everything has been thought of.

One of the reasons why this works so impressively is that the provided app works in a differently: When you put on the headphones, the app measures the physical anatomy of the ear by reflecting the sound in the concha.

In other words, the sensation of sounds changes significantly depending on whether you have small, big or dumbo-sized ears. The headphones are therefore explicitly measured for your ears, not just your hearing sensation. However, it’s worth noting that we have heard from some customers that the XP-EXT1 Exofield is too quiet for them at its maximum volume. It should be noted that the headphones do not go beyond the range where they can play without distortion. What we think is an absolute bonus but feel free to come by to get your own impression.
