Before buying a new TV you should find out what this has to offer. One quickly comes across the high dynamic range (HDR) – a term that we examined some time ago in its individual components. The term is understood to mean a number of technological components that combine to produce images with high dynamic range and more color information, thus significantly improving image quality. HDR is now available in a variety of formats, which we will review below.
Our New Home Cinema Spaces
In November, we inaugurated our new home cinemas. After having recently given an insight into the results of the renovation of our larger cinema spaces, we are now pleased to also show pictures of the small space.
While the first home cinema room is flexible, the smaller one offers some comparison and presents different screens and locations, the second offers perhaps a taste of a smaller, more realistic and private home cinema.

AV Receiver audiophil: Marantz SR8012 – Now On Show
At the beginning of this year, Marantz impressively underpinned its standing in the hi-fi sector with its high-end combination of SA-10 and PM-10. The manufacturer now apparently has similar in the home theater division: The new 11.2-channel AV receiver SR8012 offers some audiophile details, which is rare in multi-channel amplifiers.
Now In Our Showrooms: The Aventho Wireless From Beyerdynamic
Heilbronn-based audio specialist Beyerdynamic is launching the Aventho wireless, a new Bluetooth headset that will be seen and, above all, heard. The impressive sound is created on a very individual basis, which we will discuss in more detail below.
Denon AVC-X8500H: The New AV-Receiver with HDMI 2.1 Arriving February
Just before the end of the year, Denon has another surprise for home cinema fans: The new top-of-the-line Denon AVC-X8500H is expected to be released in January 2018 and will also be upgradeable to the recently finalized HDMI 2.1 standard via a firmware update. We want to briefly summarize what is currently available for information.
Using Contrast Projection Screens
Screens are not only an essential part of the home cinema look but contribute significantly to the enthralling nature of the film experience. An ideal image quality is ensured especially when the room is black, otherwise, the light is reflected by the walls. If it is a bright room, the colours may look pale and the contrast of the projection may suffer. To counteract this, more and more contrast screens (including high gain screens) are being used. As part of our Home Cinema Studio Reopening on November 10th and 11th, we accompanied a second presentation by AV-Consultant Raphael Vogt with the camera. This time it's about the subwoofer, again it's an abridged version of the entire lecture.
A little ironically, in a video on the subject of sound, there were unfortunately sound problems but Raphael is still to be understood.
