Latest technology
Astell&Kern’s USB – DAC can play back up to 32bit/384kHz and native DSD256. This imade possible the two Cirrus Logic CS43198 MasterHIFI™ DACs. A complex and highly integrated Shadow Chip I lies on a six-layer printed circuit board measuring 14 x 41 mm.

This was only possible due to Astell&Kern’s clever design. To create a small handy device, special materials like micro resistors and tantalum capacitors were used, which were developed especially for Astell&Kern.

Authentic audio reproduction is possible through the dual CS43198 DACs pair with an independent analog amplifier. Making live music experiences highly enjoyable. Also, warm and clear sound is intended without distortion, this is possible through the years of experience in AMP design of Atsell&Kern. It is capable of driving high impedance headphones adequately with a 2Vrms (Condition No Load) output level.

Exclusive cable
Astell&Kern developed a 4-wire custom cable that is structured with a techora aramid fiber, around which silver-plated copper wires and copper wires are spirally twisted. The aramid fibers provide stability against interruptions and can withstand a tensile force of 200N.

The silver-plated copper wires are thicker than conventional silver-plated copper wires. Resulting from a clear and rich surround sound (0.3μm, typically 0.1~0.15μm).
