The Debut EVO 2 focuses on the core aspects that make a turntable sound great. Technically correct design – expert craftsmanship – handmade in the EU. This turntable is built to last you a lifetime!
WHAT'S NEW
Special Platter
TPE damped & anti -magnetic - The heavy aluminium platter uses a TPE ring inside to dampen unwanted resonances.
Bearing Block
The massive precise CNC milled alu tonearm bearing block absorbs all unwanted resonances coming from the cartridge.
Pick it MM EVO
Lively and robust sound - The new Pick it MM EVO cartridge tops off the new Debut EVO 2.
Counterweight
Pro-Ject added a TPE damping ring to the counterweight as on the high-end players.
TAKE A CLOSER LOOK
Correct Anti-Skating - Adaptive skating force
As the skating force varies between the inner and outer grooves of the vinyl record, the anti-skating mechanism adjusts accordingly.
Carbon fiber - Super stiff and lightweight
The new Debut EVO 2 features the a 8,6‘‘ one piece carbon tonearm design. The super stiff, but lightweight tonearm delivers an insane sound quality with a convincing sound stage.
Premium Bearing - Smooth movement
The precise CNC milled aluminium bearing offers very low friction and best stability.
The new Pick it MM EVO
The new Pick it MM EVO cartridge completes the Debut EVO 2 in all respects. It doesn‘t only complement the lightweight tonearm sound-wise, it also looks stunning on the turntable. The phono specialists again teamed up with the cartridge experts at Ortofon from Denmark to work on this new cartridge. The cartridge is made from a unique combination of technologies. One of which is Ortofon‘s well known split pole pins. This enables it to have a flat frequency response, which is comparable to MC cartridges.
Backside beauty.
We love a clean look, not only on the topside. The new Debut EVO 2 is the first turntable where we included the RCA output box and the power socket into the plinth. The result speaks for itself.
Premium Connection
The gold plated RCA sockets on the Debut EVO 2 will always provide the best connection. The included high Connect it Phono E RCA uses quality core materials like a copper conductor for a signal transmission without losses. This cable is a semi-symmetrical type, which means that the shielding is only connected on one end. Therefore, the yellow marked side should always be connected to the receiving end.
Due to the RCA output sockets you can always change and upgrade the phono cable. This allows you to upgrade the Debut EVO 2 to the Pro-Ject True Balanced technology. To use the True Balanced Connection, your Debut EVO 2 needs to be equipped with an MC cartridge or Pick it PRO Balanced.
SMOOTH DRIVE
Quality Motor - Sophisticated suspension
The high quality AC motor is mounted into a porper suspension system which consistently reduces vibrations.
Clean Power - DC/AC power generator
The power generator creates a completely clean new sine wave for the motor. This guarantees very clean power which results in enhanced speed stability.
Belt Drive - Precision belt
The belt decouples the motor from the big sub platter. This prevents motor vibrations to travel to the needle.
33 / 45 RPM - Electronic speed change
The rocker switch on the bottom of the turntable allows you to change speeds with the push of only a single button.
A throne for your records.
The heavy 1,7 kg die-cast aluminum platter gets reworked and precision balanced in an extra step to obtain a perfect platter. The heavy aluminum platter has a ring made of TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) on the inside that helps to dampen all resonances and thus minimize wow and flutter. The Debut EVO 2 platter is anti-magnetic, which allows you to use MC cartridges and upgrade to the True Balanced Connection technology. The separately available Record Puck E provides an extra level of damping and stability, so it is the perfect add-on for your Debut EVO 2.
The platter features a notch for the record label and together with the Pro-Ject Record Puck E (available separately) the puck’s weight will press your record tightly against the platter.
Why should I upgrade to True Balanced?
Balanced audio connections are standard among professional musicians, recording studios, and for live concerts. It is essential to have a stable & interference-free connection as these signals, especially microphone signals, will be highly amplified.
Cartridges are balanced signal transducers by nature! Due to the internal wiring of MM cartridges, you'll need to upgrade your turntable with an MC cartridge or the special Pro-Ject Pick it PRO Balanced to access the entirety of that balanced signal. Together with the new True Balanced Connection cables you'll be able to access high-end features that were previously only available on the most expensive of phono stages. And the best of all: any Pro-Ject turntable with RCA, miniXLR or 5P outputs can do it!
We have a comprehensive selection of Pro-Ject devices available for demonstration in our HiFi studios in Berlin-Kreuzberg. We look forward to your visit!
