The CX Series amplifiers are a labour of love; the product of a team dedicated to extracting every drop of pleasure and detail from music of all genres. The amplifiers by Cambridge Audio will help you discover a new dimension of sound.

The CXA80 must be heard to be believed. 80 Watts per channel of spectacular detail come from a super-efficient, fully symmetrical class A/B amplifier design. Separate, dual mono windings on a low-flux toroidal transformer also enhance performance further. Together, these design details deliver incredible control over your speakers on a wide, enveloping, captivating sound stage.

‘DacMagic’ digital inputs and digital to analogue conversion
To journey deeper into the music you love, the CXA80 has been designed from scratch with high performance digital to analogue conversion. This is thanks to a high specification 24-bit 192kHz WM8740 DAC chip from Wolfson that is at the core of the award-winning Cambridge Audio DacMagic range. Two optical inputs and one co-axial digital input are provided as well as an asynchronous USB Audio input for incredibly low jitter, so you can play your music directly from your PC or Mac. Add an optional BT100 Bluetooth dongle to your CXA80, for instant aptX quality streaming direct from your smartphone or tablet.

A single-speed transport optimised for music CDs, the CXC has been designed for efficient recovery of CD digital data with state of the art error correction. It’s been engineered to delight you by playing audio CDs brilliantly. Designed specifically for the new CX Series, the Cambridge CXC delivers stunning CD playback and works in perfect harmony with the Cambridge CXA60 and CXA80 integrated amplifiers as well as other hi-end DACs.

At the heart of the CXC is the legendary ‘S3’ servo design by Cambridge Audio. Designed for efficient recovery of CD digital data with state of the art error correction, it’s been engineered to delight you by playing audio CDs brilliantly. Multi-purpose universal Blu-ray players simply can’t compete.

With no digital to analogue conversion in the CXC, when used in conjunction with CX Series amplifiers, the CXC outputs the CD signal in digital form from the player to the amplifier, using the high quality Wolfson DAC in a CXA amplifier for the crucial digital to analogue conversion stages.
