Classic Electrostatic Performance at a Real World Price
When HiFiMAN introduced its first electrostatic headphone, Jade, in 2008, it quickly became a favouite of audiophiles and music lovers who fell in love with its natural, expansive soundfild.
When HiFiMAN introduces the Jade II, a worthy successor to the original that benefits from many years of research and development. The new Jade II builds upon the reputation of the original HiFi Man classic with sonics that epitomize electrostatic speed and performance.
Electrostatic Speed and Definition
Reach from the deepest lows all the way to 90KHz. HiFi Man's oval-shaped earcups provide the maximum diaphragm size for deep, resonant bass response.
Its nanotech driver, less than 0.001mm thick, couples near zero distortion with lightning-fast response. The nano-particle coated diaphragm provides an extremely high frequency response.
Open-back design for an expanded, more intimately enveloping soundstage with natural sonics that place the listener in the best seat in the house.
The Jade II headphone is light, weighing only 365g. Combination of lightweight aluminium alloy construction, padded earcups, and a hybrid headband design ensures a comfortable fit, even for extended periods of time.
The Perfect Match
The electrostatic driver amplifier Jade II from HIFIMAN is based on a classic transistor circuit, which was realized with modern components. The special shaped chassis not only looks good to the music listener, but also forms the cooling element for the heat of the transistors. Slots in the raised underbody and on the back also ensure a permanent air draft around the components.
The volume control is, as typical with HIFIMAN, realized with individual resistors. There can be no channel inequality in the long term. The Jade II Driver Amplifier has an RCA and XLR input, which can be switched at the front. Tonal, these two inputs are the same. The XLR input is recommended, for example, for longer cable paths from the source to the amplifier. After switching on, the LED on the front flashes for a few seconds until the supply voltage has built up. Only then the signal is released and switched to permanent lights. Electrostatic headphones from other manufacturers with STAX-Pro connection can also be operated with the amplifier. There are two outputs available.
