Top Performing OLED: Panasonic’s GZW2004

With the GZW2004, Panasonic brought a television onto the market that forms the bridge that separates other manufacturers from each other: the new flagship features both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, making it an absolute pioneer. What the TV also has in its luggage, we reveal in the following article.

Technical Features

The GZW2004 is available in 55 inch and 65 inch sizes. The TV shines with a 4K Ultra HD display that attracts with improved brightness values and precise color reproduction. Panasonic was supported by Stefan Sonnenfeld, who made a name for himself as a Hollywood colorist. However, not only is the OLED panel new, but the processor has also been renewed and its performance increased. In concrete terms, this means that the TV reproduces colors accurately, even if brightness and contrast in the program change quickly.

As already mentioned at the beginning, the GZW2004 not only has HDR10+, but also Dolby Vision. That’s pretty great, since buyers inside are now directly equipped with the most important HDR formats. But of course HDR10 and HLG are also supported. (We have already taken a closer look at the differences between the different formats elsewhere).

Of course the support of the language assistants Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are in the meantime. In addition, the TV is operated via the My Home Screen interface.

The audio system is a hit! The new Panasonic has speakers that radiate upwards and are integrated directly into the slim television. They convince with a dynamic and powerful sound. So you can comfortably bring the impressive Dolby Atmos sound into your living room. Combined with jitter elimination and noise shaping optimization, the so-called JENO Enginge, the GZW2004 offers a remarkable sound system. The speakers can also be extended wirelessly via Bluetooth.

Final Thoughts

If the focus is more on a great picture and not on the sound, then the GZW1004 entry-level model in 55 or 65 inch with its excellent image display is also recommended. The biggest difference to the 2004 model is that this model has upward facing speakers and Dolby Surround. An absolute highlight for sound enthusiasts, of course!
