On Show At Last: The LG SL10YG Soundbar

We have been waiting for them for what feels like an eternity: The SL10YG-Soundbar of the Korean company LG. The flagship convinces in the audio range, as it should be for a Soundbar, but also brings along some technical finesses.

The LG SL10YG comes in a slim, elongated design. This is particularly suitable for large televisions, as it blends gallantly into or under the picture. The dark grey model can either be placed upright under the TV or finds a place on the wall with the help of a bracket.

Behind the grill, which is stretched around the Soundbar, there are loudspeakers at all corners and ends, and even attention has been paid to speakers pointing upwards. Also included is a wireless, active subwoofer with a 7-inch front-firing driver. Thanks to the combination of Soundbar and subwoofer, a 5.1.2 system can be set up that shines with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Especially helpful is the integration of Chromecast and Google Assistant, which perfectly completes your smart home. By the way, the G at the end of the name of the Soundbar stands for exactly this integration. Otherwise, the model can also be controlled with the included remote control.

The SL10YG comes with two HDMI inputs, one HDMI output with ARC and optical digital audio input. These ports allow 4K content and high dynamic range content (i.e. Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HLG) to pass through.

And now let us mention the sound, which is absolutely convincing. The Soundbar creates a sound stage that creates an impressive home cinema feeling. The front speakers offer you width and depth, while the ceiling speakers (depending on the reflection possibilities) create the spatial sound.
