JBL’s Jack-Of-All-Trades: The New 4305P Active Monitors

Presenting the latest brainstorm from the Harman Group: the JBL 4305P  — a compact active speaker system with an integrated streaming engine and the sonic refinement one expects from JBL.

We think we can all agree that it’s best to assemble your own HiFi system to personal preference, mixing and matching the components from whichever products suit your individual needs. One might even call this the essence of human personality. But we at HiFi im Hinterhof also know that, of course, such an undertaking is not always the most practical of solutions. For where there is personality in individual stereo system design — there is also a tangle of cables. So an all-in-one fix often represents the better choice. We now offer you that fix in the form of the 4305P from the American hi-fi producer JBL. It’s an active monitor speaker system that is both visually and acoustically appealing. The term active is the keyword here. Each speaker is supplied with 150 watts of power via an integrated Class D amplifier, so there is no need for another external, space-consuming device. In addition to a variety of physical connection options – twice digital (USB, optical), twice analog (3.5 mm jack, XLR/TRS) and even a LAN interface – the system also offers wireless playback options such as via WLAN, Google Chromecast, Apple AirPlay 2 and Bluetooth. No more long cables!

TITEL

Thanks to its compatibility with all streaming services, you can also listen to your music directly via Spotify, Tidal and others — Tidal users will note that the system is also capable of playing MQA files. If you do choose to connect the two speakers by cable, a powerful D/A converter converts high-resolution audio files up to a resolution of 192 kHz and 24 bits. Wirelessly, the connection is limited to “only” 96 kHz. The system is effortlessly controlled via wireless remote control or the company’s own MusicLife app. Furthermore, the JBL 4305P are “Roon Ready”, for your convenience. These attractive speakers come in the familiar JBL retro look and are available in Natural Walnut or Black Walnut wood veneer finishes.

In addition, these are speakers for the studio as well as the home. As the latest model from the studio monitor series, the JBL 4305P also rely on a high-definition imaging horn, so sound is reproduced with both incredible accuracy and powerful dynamics: the characteristic sound of JBL. In the lower frequency range, a 5.25-inch bass-midrange driver equipped with a cast frame and a fiber composite cone is used. The bass range receives additional reinforcement from two front-firing bass ports.

Final Thoughts
The new JBL 4305P active bookshelf speaker system is perfect for anyone looking for a space-saving, high-fidelity, all-in-one solution: high quality in a compact size. Having both wired and wireless connectivity opens up a wide range of possibilities for both music lovers and content creators alike. And in our newly established active speaker studio in Kreuzberg, we will be most happy to take you even deeper into the matter of wireless music enjoyment with both the new JBL as well as many other products. See you soon at HiFi im Hinterhof!
