The E-5000
On the occasion of Accuphase’s 50th anniversary, the developers set themselves an ambitious goal: to develop the most powerful and best-integrated amplifier in Accuphase’s history. The new E-5000 Precision Integrated Stereo Amplifier, therefore, sets new standards in the hi-fi world: with an impressive 240 watts of power at 8 ohms impedance and 320 watts at 4 ohms, as well as a damping factor of 1000, the E-5000 is in control of every speaker.
Volume control was accomplished using AAVA technology (Accuphase Analog Vari-gain Amplifier), which uses two modules per channel. According to Accuphase, using this method eliminates all variable resistors from the signal path and prevents any negative influence on the sound quality.
The rear panel of the unit has numerous inputs and outputs, including RCA and XLR connectors, as well as two expansion slots that allow you to equip the amplifier with additional features, such as a digital-to-analog converter or a phono preamp.
However, the E-5000 offers not only impressive performance but also simple operation and exclusive features that follow the proven Accuphase tradition. Design-wise, there are innovations that distinguish the device from its predecessors. There are such small but fine details as the shiny gold-colored “collars” around the volume control and input selector switch, which make the unit look even more luxurious. Or the pointer instruments, which make the level control in the lower level range even more clearly readable than in the past – very nice to look at, and the eye virtually listens.

The E-4000
The E-4000, which we recently presented to you in a video, is the new class AB integrated amplifier and succeeds the E-480 high-performance stereo amplifier. Now in its 12th generation, it combines many advanced technologies.

By cleverly placing buffer amplifiers close to the input sockets, the noise induced between the input socket and AAVA is reduced to a minimum. The “AAVA” control is a pure analog technology and does not need a “signal carrying” potentiometer in the signal path. The music signal is no longer attenuated by a rotary potentiometer, which achieves optimal signal-to-noise ratio, perfect channel separation and minimal distortion over the entire control range.
The power amplification is provided by bipolar transistors in a quadruple parallel push-pull arrangement. A generously dimensioned power supply ensures stable output power of 180 watts per channel into 8 ohms.
The connection variety is also impressive here: Besides numerous inputs and outputs in the form of RCA sockets, balanced XLR connections are also available. It is also possible to use two expansion slots and thus equip the amplifier with additional functions, such as a digital-to-analog converter or a phono preamplifier.
